Specifications

This DC community solar project is located atop the two Robinson Apartments buildings in Southeast DC and was constructed by local installer, Ipsun Solar.  Situated next to the St. Elizabeth Hospital, these newly constructed apartment buildings will each have approximately 150 solar panels on their roofs.

Anyone who pays a Pepco DC electric bill can subscribe to this roof-top solar farm and start saving money on their electricity, all while making DC a greener community!

Project Terms

  • No cost to join and no fee to cancel
  • No credit requirement
  • Transferable at no cost within Pepco DC
  • Your subscription will cover about 90% of your monthly usage
  • Your third-party electricity supplier will not be impacted

Project Updates

November 21, 2024
  • Project is fully constructed and fully subscribed
  • Robinson Place B was turned on in June and is producing power!  Robinson Place A was turned on in July and is producing power!
    • You can expect to see your solar credits on your Pepco DC bill in July (for Robinson B) and August (for Robinson A) and your Neighborhood Sun bill in August (Robinson B) and September (Robinson A).

Copy of a Recent Electric Bill

A recent electric bill is necessary to connect your community solar subscription to our utility account. Either electronic or paper copies are acceptable.

Payment Method

You can start your subscription with a bank account, credit card, or debit card. We do not charge you until the community solar farm is turned on and generating electricity for your subscription. 

Income Verification

This step is only required for those who may qualify for the S.H.A.R.E.™ program for low- to moderate-income residents. Examples include Medicaid card, EBT, and SNAP card.
